Who we are
This site is run by Alessio Deidda Digital, VAT IT04110950922, Italy. For any question about this page, write to [email protected].
What we collect
We count visits in two ways, to learn which pages help people. Umami, which we run on our own server, counts page views and clicks on links without cookies and without storing who you are. Google Analytics 4 measures the same things with cookies: in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland it only runs if you accept it; elsewhere it runs by default and you can switch it off at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. We do not use advertising features or ad trackers.
If you use the form on Saw not listed?, we store what you type (brand, model, bar length and an optional note), the time, your country as reported by our network provider, your browser's user agent, and a one-way hash of your IP address. We never store the IP address itself. The hash only lets us block repeated spam.
Like every website, our server and our network provider (Cloudflare) process technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and stop attacks.
Why, and on what basis
We use form reports only to add missing chainsaws to the site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the reference complete and the form free of spam (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Please do not put personal details in the note.
How long we keep it
We keep a form report only until the model is added to the site, then we delete it, together with its IP hash. You can ask us to delete a report at any time.
Amazon and eBay
Some pages show product pictures loaded directly from Amazon and eBay servers, and links to their sites. Loading a picture sends your IP address and browser details to that company. When you follow a link, Amazon or eBay may set cookies on their own site under their own privacy policies. See the affiliate disclosure.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Ltd (for Europe) and Google LLC. It receives your IP address, which Google does not store, your browser and device type, the pages you open and the links you click, and stores two cookies (_ga and _ga_WMYWDCV2ZP) for up to 13 months. Ad features and data sharing for advertising are turned off. In Europe the legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw with Cookie settings. Google may process data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Who else sees data
Our hosting provider and Cloudflare, only to run the site, and Google for the analytics described above. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete data about you, or object to its use, by writing to [email protected]. Residents of the EU can also complain to their data protection authority; in Italy that is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali. California residents have the same rights to know and delete under the CCPA; we do not sell or share personal information as defined there.
